Subject: A Case Study on Oakwood Timber Tower & 22 Bishopsgate
Amongst other projects, Kevin is currently working on PLP’s timber tower research project together with the University of Cambridge. The feasibility proposals imagine the future development of laminated timber tall buildings in central London, adding an 80-storey, 300-metre tower and additional levels of housing to the Barbican complex.
Exemplary projects, while at KPF, include Provinciehuis (the Provincial Parliament Building) and the De Hoftoren Tower – both in The Hague, Netherlands; and the landmark Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) Headquarters building in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Architectural Association in London, England and Carleton University in Canada, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas, with a Scholarship in Rome.
He is a Past - President and long-standing director of the American Institute of Architects’ AIA/UK Chapter and has served as an international architectural editor. Kevin has lectured and has been exhibited widely.
His work has twice been chosen for the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art, London and his recent design for the museum and theatre of Perm are presently on exhibition in Russia. His Trinity Place Office Headquarters won recently Best Office building in Russia, while The Edge recently won an AIA Europe Award, the BREEAM Awards 2016 for both Best Office and the Most Sustainable Building in the World, and notably the laminated timber high rise feasibility for the Barbican in London
